Im from a farming background and it seems to me the green party want to hammer rural Ireland and at the same time they back huge sever farms that have come to the country in the last few years which use as much electricity as all the houses in rural Ireland and use vast amounts of water to boot.

We back onto a farm. Houses built in 2003 - farmer was born in the farm and he's in his late 60's. When we first moved here we were woken each morning (VERY early) by the dairy cows being brought in from the fields for milking. A few years they switched to beef farming and now we have cows bellowing all night sometimes with difficult labour. You actually get used to it and start sleeping through it all. I've noticed farmers tend to go out of their way to get along with everyone. But they were here first and they have a job to do. I wouldn't live anywhere else.

It is the same everywhere I see. People moving from cities to rural areas to find quite and peace... then they are all surprised there are farmers and all sorts of animals and they try to change eeeeverything about the place and make local people to adjust.
